Logitech G launches G512 X gaming keyboard with TMR

Wed, 29th Apr 2026 (Today)

Logitech G has launched the G512 X gaming keyboard, its first to use TMR analogue and mechanical switch technology.

The keyboard comes in 75-key and 98-key layouts and targets players who want to customise both hardware and input settings. It includes 39 hybrid TMR switch beds and ships with nine Gateron KS-20 analogue switches.

Logitech G is positioning the product around customisation, with support for analogue and mechanical switches in the same keyboard. The switch beds are compatible with a range of popular analogue switches, as well as 3-pin and 5-pin mechanical switches.

TMR, or Tunnel Magneto Resistance, lets users assign commands based on the depth of a keypress rather than a simple on-off input. The approach is commonly associated with genres such as racing, flight simulation and tactical shooters, where players may want more varied control from a single key.

The keyboard also supports dual-action key mapping through Logitech G's G Hub software. Users can assign two actions to one key at different actuation points, while optional SAPP rings add a tactile marker for the second trigger point.

It also includes two programmable dials for user-defined controls. A rear storage compartment holds accessories including keycap pullers, the bundled analogue switches and five SAPP rings.

Performance is another focus of the launch. Logitech G says the G512 X delivers what it calls true 8K performance, with an 8K polling rate, 8K reporting rate and 8K processing, for 0.125ms end-to-end.

Design details

The design features a PVD-coated chassis, a built-in RGB lightbar and optional acrylic palm rests sold separately for each layout. The keyboard will be available in black and white.

In comments accompanying the launch, company executives described the keyboard as a response to growing interest in modified PC peripherals and more granular input control.

"At Logitech G, we see a player's setup as something that grows with them as they improve," said Robin Piispanen, Vice President and General Manager, Logitech G. "With the G512 X, we combine craftsmanship with performance. This keyboard isn't just a tool - it's an extension of the gamer, giving you the control and precision to play at your best."

Product range

The keyboard is also being presented as part of the broader G5 Series, which includes the G502 X Plus wireless gaming mouse and the G522 wireless gaming headset. Logitech G says the products are designed to work together as a single line-up for PC gamers.

Pricing details

Australian pricing starts at AUD $299.95 for the 75-key layout and AUD $339.95 for the 98-key layout.

"The G512 X is our love letter to the gamers who mod their gear as much as they mod their games," said Lahti. "It's a design that pushes the entire industry forward, fundamentally changing the way gamers can interact with their gear and play their favourite titles."
