Konica Minolta Australia named a top workplace for 2025 by staff

Thu, 12th Jun 2025

Konica Minolta Australia has been recognised as a CertifiedTM workplace by Great Place To Work for 2025, reflecting feedback collected entirely from its employees.

This year, 72 per cent of Konica Minolta Australia employees stated that they consider the organisation a great place to work. This figure is notably 12 per cent higher than the Australian average as reported in the Great Place To Work 2024 Australia National Employee Engagement Study.

Great Place To Work is a recognised authority on measuring workplace culture, employee experience, and leadership practices, with their certification process relying on confidential employee feedback. The findings provide insight into how employees perceive their work environment and whether it fosters trust, respect, and inclusion.

Focus on people

Gabrielle Stevens, Chief People and Culture Officer at Konica Minolta Australia, emphasised the significance of the certification, describing it as recognition for the company's dedication to an inclusive and empowering culture.

Being Certified by Great Place To Work is more than an endorsement; it's a meaningful recognition of the inclusive, empowering, and values-led culture that Konica Minolta Australia works hard to cultivate. This certification validates that Konica Minolta Australia is a workplace where everyone feels supported, respected, and able to thrive. It reflects Konica Minolta Australia's long-standing commitment to listening to its employees and creating a culture built on equity, inclusion, and opportunity.

Stevens also commented on the ways employee experience and culture are developed at the company. She said that consultation, authenticity, and continual improvement form the foundation of internal programs, particularly through a diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) committee. The committee is employee-led and formed via expressions of interest to maximise representation across diverse teams and experiences. The committee's work influences the company's approach to disability inclusion, gender equity, LGBTQIA+ representation, and cultural awareness.

The company also runs an annual engagement survey to gain insights on workplace perceptions, track employee experiences, and pinpoint areas in need of change. The survey's high scores – particularly in DEI – are cited as evidence of the effectiveness of Konica Minolta Australia's approach and help determine areas for future investment.

Stevens added,

What makes Konica Minolta Australia a Great Place To Work is the way it centres people in everything. Konica Minolta Australia is focused on building a culture where everyone can belong and succeed, from progressive workplace policies to inclusive hiring and strong internal pathways for career growth. Konica Minolta Australia's DEI Committee unites passionate representatives from across the business to shape initiatives that reflect company values, while long-term partnerships with organisations such as atWork Australia help to remove barriers and open doors. Konica Minolta Australia is proud to be a workplace where diversity is embraced and where everyone has the chance to make a meaningful contribution.

Sarah Lewis-Kulin, Vice President of Global Recognition at Great Place To Work, commended the achievement.

Great Place To Work Certification is a highly coveted achievement that requires consistent and intentional dedication to the overall employee experience. By successfully earning this recognition, it is evident that Konica Minolta Australia stands out as one of the top companies to work for, providing a great workplace environment for its employees.

Structured initiatives

The organisation maintains a calendar of events and initiatives that reflect the priorities of its workforce and broader community. Activities include awareness and training for International Day of People with Disability, events for Harmony Week, and participation in International Women's Day with input from charity partners such as the Breast Cancer Network Australia.

Each initiative aims to support the diverse realities of employees and foster both education and advocacy within the company. According to the company, these efforts extend beyond formal policies by embedding inclusive practices into day-to-day operations.

Workplace impact

Research from Great Place To Work suggests that job seekers are 4.5 times more likely to find a supportive manager at Certified workplaces. Employees at such organisations are also reported to be 93 per cent more likely to look forward to work and are twice as likely to consider themselves paid fairly, earning proportional company profits and having equitable promotion chances.
