Intelliworx reveals 2025 IT predictions for Aussie MSPs

Yesterday

Intelliworx has shared its 2025 predictions for the Australian IT channel, focusing on the roles managed service providers (MSPs) will play in the industry.

The company forecasts that MSPs will be instrumental in delivering advanced cybersecurity solutions as cyber threats become more sophisticated and frequent. Shane Maher, Managing Director at Intelliworx, elaborated: "In 2025, we'll see a shift toward adopting advanced solutions such as zero-trust architectures, which limit access based on strict verification, and the use of real-time threat intelligence to anticipate and counteract emerging risks. Incident response services will also be critical, ensuring businesses can recover quickly and minimise disruption following a breach." MSPs are expected to help implement and manage these security measures effectively.

Hybrid cloud strategies are anticipated to dominate IT infrastructure, combining the benefits of on-premises systems and cloud solutions. The strategy's appeal lies in its ability to balance control, security, scalability, and cost efficiency. Maher stated, "MSPs will be instrumental in managing these complex environments, ensuring seamless integration, enhanced scalability, and optimised performance."

Artificial intelligence (AI) is predicted to evolve from automation to creating actionable insights. Businesses will use AI tools for predictive analytics, improved customer engagement, and operational efficiency. Maher commented, "These capabilities will enable Australian businesses to stay competitive, adapt to changes in the market, and deliver personalised experiences to their customers." MSPs will support companies in leveraging AI for smarter decision-making.

Data sovereignty and regulatory compliance will see increased focus, with potential regulations from the federal government concerning AI usage. Maher highlighted, "Compliance will not just be a legal obligation but also a critical factor in maintaining customer trust and avoiding costly fines." MSPs are expected to assist businesses in navigating these regulatory landscapes.

Digital transformation is set to incorporate advanced technologies like IoT, blockchain, and analytics while modernising existing systems. Maher said, "As digital transformation continues across industries, MSPs will play a vital role in supporting businesses through IT consulting, digital strategy development, and the implementation of emerging technologies." This will help companies drive efficiency and enhance customer experiences.

Sustainability through Green IT practices is forecast to become a significant priority. With global emphasis on reducing carbon footprints, businesses will be keen on energy-efficient and eco-friendly technologies. According to Maher, sustainability will be a crucial business strategy factor, with MSPs guiding businesses on sustainable IT practices.

Finally, there will be a growing demand for personalised customer engagement. Enhanced engagement involves anticipating customer needs, streamlining communication, and creating tailored solutions. Maher stated, "MSPs will respond to this in 2025 by elevating their customer engagement through personalised services, proactive communication and tailored solutions designed to address specific business challenges." This approach aims to foster long-term partnerships and increase customer satisfaction.
