Dynatrace unveils AI, security, & developer tools update

Today

Dynatrace has unveiled several innovations to its platform, aimed at enhancing its AI capabilities, strengthening its security portfolio, and advancing development tools for shift-left strategies.

Dynatrace announced an expansion of its AIOps capabilities with enhancements to the Davis AI engine. These improvements are designed to help enterprises predict and prevent IT issues, moving from a reactive approach to preventive operations. The enhancements allow for generating artifacts to improve automated remediation workflows and provide more robust root cause analysis with natural language explanations.

Andrea Gonzalez, Chief Operation Officer at NEQUI, stated: "We are committed to delivering top-notch digital experiences to our customers, which requires our teams to embrace a proactive approach to ensuring continuous service reliability. Dynatrace Davis AI has been instrumental in equipping our teams with the automatic insights needed to pinpoint potential issues in real time. These latest enhancements will only bolster these capabilities, providing unprecedented forecasting analytics that will help us be even more proactive in our approach to preventing issues before they impact our customers."

Andy Thurai, Vice President and Principal Analyst at Constellation Research, highlighted the importance of recent advances: "Natural language processing (NLP) interface has been a gamechanger for AIOps, enabling any incident responder to converse with observability data and try to get to the root cause of the incident, versus waiting for an experienced observability practitioner who fully understands the system to step in."

Additionally, Dynatrace has introduced a Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) solution which complements its existing Kubernetes Security Posture Management (KSPM) offering. This addition aims to enhance security by aggregating and contextualising information from different platforms, simplifying security management and automation.

Philip Bues, Senior Research Manager, Cloud Security at IDC, commented: "Cloud security teams get thousands of alerts every day. I'm excited about how observability context could provide Cloud Security teams with the ability to prioritise alerts, enabling them to remediate those that really matter."

Steve Tack, Chief Product Officer at Dynatrace, explained the unified nature of the solution: "Modern enterprises need security solutions that can protect their entire technology stack, from cloud infrastructure to running applications. With our unified solution, organisations achieve a single-platform approach that delivers continuous security insights, AI-ranked risk analysis, and automated remediation that can remove blind spots, automate adherence to technical standards, and significantly reduce complexity."

On the front of supporting developers, Dynatrace has unveiled its Observability for Developers solution. This includes a set of tools aimed at giving development teams actionable insights and improved troubleshooting capabilities to support the "shift-left" movement in software development. Features include advanced analytics, runtime insights, and the new Live Debugger, which facilitates real-time monitoring and debugging without performance impediments.

KellyAnn Fitzpatrick, Senior Analyst at RedMonk, noted: "As organisations increasingly recognise observability as critical to their IT operations, we are also seeing awareness of the necessity of observability earlier in the SDLC. With its Observability for Developers solution, Dynatrace is expanding its observability capabilities to offer developer-focused tooling designed to meet this need."

Bernd Greifeneder, CTO and Founder at Dynatrace, stated: "Observability for Developers represents our commitment to empowering development teams with intelligent, context-aware solutions that allow them to innovate with speed and confidence. We're giving developers the ability to understand, troubleshoot, and optimise their applications with ease and precision."
