Brisbane's Zeligate launches AI 'Zelis', prepares for Series A
Brisbane-based early-stage firm Zeligate has introduced its AI workforce, known as 'Zelis', in an effort to enhance workplace efficiency and productivity.
This initiative comes as part of the company's preparation for a Series A funding round slated for early 2025, following the successful acquisition of USD $5 million in seed funding.
Zeligate has differentiated its product from existing AI systems like ChatGPT and Perplexity by developing 'Zelis' to perform entire tasks rather than providing input-based answers or handling single tasks through 'wrappers and bots'. At present, the firm has released two Zelis – a Hiring Assistant and a Personal Assistant – with plans to launch a Customer Service Assistant later this year.
Built upon the combined strengths of nine large language models, including the latest ChatGPT-4o model, each Zeli adapts to its user's specific needs, workflows, and business knowledge over time. This adaptability ensures ongoing improvement and reduced bias, according to the company.
Zeligate's founder and CEO, Denver Naidoo, emphasised the practical advantages of their AI workforce. "We provide the fastest, cheapest and easiest way to bring the benefits of AI into any business," said Naidoo. "Unlike ChatGPT or Perplexity, which provide input-based answers, or 'wrappers and bots' that only handle single tasks, Zelis perform entire tasks like interviewing candidates, taking notes, summarising conversations or signing on new customers."
The new AI workforce offers businesses a team of AI workers that can automate repetitive tasks and streamline processes, allowing employees to focus on more pressing work. The Zelis come 'out-of-the-box', requiring no up-front development costs or technical skills, and feature industry-standard security measures to ensure data privacy and integrity.
Naidoo pointed to key findings from Atlassian's State of Teams Report 2024, which noted the difficulty many knowledge workers and executives face in integrating AI into their daily tasks. "We're addressing the key challenge highlighted by Atlassian's research by eliminating the pain point of implementing AI," Naidoo stated.
"With Zelis, organisations have an AI workforce in critical areas of the business and can immediately enjoy its productivity gains without having to invest tens of thousands of dollars in people and technology," he explained. "From the moment a Zeli is deployed, employees cut time-consuming tasks so they can focus their efforts on more important work."
Naidoo also highlighted the cost-effectiveness of their AI solution. "As large enterprises continue to invest heavily in AI, it can be expensive and take time to implement. Instead, we provide a far more affordable advanced GenAI solution and drastically reduce the number of individual applications and monthly subscriptions businesses may currently be spending thousands on."
Zeligate's AI workforce is accessible through a browser with minimal onboarding costs and offers versatile, task-based AI agents. These agents are intended to assist organisations in achieving higher efficiency and productivity levels. Each Zeli is capable of using voice-to-text or text-to-task functionalities, learning from each interaction to complete tasks effectively and offering actionable insights.
Furthermore, Zeligate will support organisations in utilising its AI workforce through short courses offered via its Zeli AI Business Academy. "The Zeligate AI Workforce will enable people to simply delegate their routine administrative tasks to a team of smart Zeli AI assistants," Naidoo noted.
The Zeligate Artificial Reality Engine (ZARE), a proprietary system that integrates more than 100 services and technologies, underpins the AI workforce. This modular architecture allows for the rapid creation, training, and deployment of AI assistants across various business functions.
