Avnet wins lucrative full EMC distribution
Avnet has won the potentially lucrative deal to distribute EMC's entire portfolio in Australia.
The distributor has held distribution rights for EMC's VSPEX Blue since early this year.
Avnet says it will be providing its reseller channel, including independent software vendors and system integrators, with EMC's range of offerings, including products for converged infrastructure and data solutions related to big data, cloud computing and storage.
The distributor says its partners can also take advantage of Avnet's assembly and integration services to offer pre-configured, fully-tested solutions based on EMC technology, which can be delivered to customers' sites with certified shipping.
Darren Adams, Avnet Technology Solutions Australia and New Zealand vice president and general manager, says by joining forces 'we are able to deliver industry-leading solutions and services backed by expertise and support to help our partners growth their business profitability'.
Chris Trevitt, EMC ANZ general manager of partner sales, says the vendor is constantly assessing its business strategy.
"Avnet's global distribution reach and go to market strategy perfectly align with EMC's and we are looking forward to a strong and long lasting partnership in Australia.
Trevitt says Avnet's technical expertise, market knowledge and trusted business relationships will provide a strong platform to enable EMC to strengthen its presence in Australia an capitalize on new business opportunities.
Ingram Micro also distributes EMC in Australia and was named EMC Distributor of the Year at the ANZ Business Partner Program Awards earlier this year.
Ingram Micro was also appointed as EMC's New Zealand distributor earlier this year, with the vendor ending its nine year relationship with Westcon.
