07 Sep 15

Avnet Technology Solutions has appointed former Microsoft director Mathias von Bescherer as its vice president of operations for Asia Pacific.

von Bescherer, who will be based in Singapore, will lead and provide strategic direction for business operations and drive consolidation and optimisation in the region, Avnet Technology Solutions says.

In his role at Microsoft, von Bescherer was responsible for heading both the consumer channel and business operations divisions, before taking up a role as Asia Pacific sales excellence lead for small and midmarket solutions and partners.

William Chu, Avnet Technology Solutions Asia Pacific vice president, says the ongoing transformation in business, technology and the channel allows Avnet to continue to evolve and create innovative solutions that drive next generation opportunities.

“With talented resources such as von Bescherer, Avnet can better engage with key stakeholders to drive overall operational excellence across the region,” Chu says.

von Bescherer's previous roles also include stints with Targus and Hewlett Packard.
