Australian Computer Society launches AI cybersecurity tool
The Australian Computer Society (ACS) and Cyberknowledge have partnered to launch a platform aimed at improving cybersecurity among small and medium businesses (SMBs) in Australia.
This collaboration introduces an AI-assisted cyber risk management tool tailored to the needs of SMBs, encompassing an array of services including risk assessment, automated policy generation, and third-party risk management. The initiative is set to launch in April 2025, initially targeting sectors such as financial services, healthcare, retail, and professional services, with a goal to support over 1,000 SMBs in its first year.
The Cyberknowledge platform is designed to provide continuous data-driven insights to help business owners, risk managers, and security leaders make informed decisions about cyber risks. ACS will promote this platform to its national members, representing a shift in the cybersecurity landscape for Australian SMBs.
Josh Griggs, the CEO of the Australian Computer Society, highlighted the potential benefits of this partnership. "Raising the level of security holistically across Australia will have enormous positive impact for every Australian," he said. He acknowledged that cybersecurity has often been avoided by SMBs due to challenges such as talent shortage, costs, and time constraints. "However, with the advent of AI-driven platforms like Cyberknowledge, there is now an opportunity to address all three of these challenges at once," he added.
Griggs further stated, "The important thing to do now is to make it very easy to access these solutions in order to drive adoption. By partnering with Cyberknowledge, ACS is providing our network the opportunity to access a platform that can transform how SMBs approach cyber risk management. In combining ACS's industry expertise with Cyberknowledge's innovative AI-assisted platform, we're making sophisticated cyber risk management accessible and practical for businesses of all sizes."
The platform offers several innovations such as Dynamic Policy Generation, which automates the development of cybersecurity policies, procedures, and standards. It also includes Third-Party Risk Intelligence, offering thorough vendor risk assessment and management capabilities, Measurement and Metrics for real-time insights, and a Strategic Roadmap for developing and sustaining cyber resilience.
Chris Hagios, Managing Director of Cyberknowledge, spoke on the role of AI in revolutionising cybersecurity. "In today's digital landscape, businesses of all sizes are managing unprecedented volumes of sensitive data," Mr. Hagios stated. "By merging our cybersecurity expertise with cutting-edge AI agents, we are making enterprise-grade Cyber risk management capabilities accessible to every SMB." He further emphasised, "Our AI-powered Cyber agents provide assistance and guidance, ensuring that robust cybersecurity is no longer a privilege reserved for large corporations with substantial resources."
This partnership aims to provide SMBs with the tools needed to enhance their cybersecurity frameworks, making them more resilient against cyber threats while maintaining cost efficiency and operational simplicity.
