Acer unveils Predator X27 X 4K monitor with 240 Hz refresh rate

Today

Acer has unveiled its new Predator X27 X gaming monitor featuring a QD-OLED panel with 4K resolution and a 240 Hz refresh rate.

The latest Predator monitor is engineered for gamers who demand higher visual performance, combining a 27-inch QD-OLED display with support for AMD FreeSync Premium Pro technology. The monitor is designed to deliver ultra-smooth visuals, particularly for titles that benefit from high frame rates and detailed resolution.

The Predator X27 X offers a native resolution of 3840x2160 at up to 240 Hz both via HDMI and DisplayPort connections. Its display panel features VESA DisplayHDR TrueBlack 400 certification, which is aimed at enhancing dynamic range and providing deeper blacks alongside brighter highlights. The panel supports 99% of the DCI-P3 colour gamut and achieves Delta E<2 colour accuracy for highly accurate colour reproduction.

Acer has calibrated the Predator X27 X with True 10Bit colour and a rapid 0.03 ms grey-to-grey (GTG) response time, which assists in minimising blur and ghosting during fast on-screen action. The use of AMD FreeSync Premium Pro technology is intended to reduce visual artefacts such as screen tearing, resulting in smoother gameplay across varying frame rates, including when enjoying HDR content in games, films, and other media.

Discussing the monitor's features, the company outlined: "The new cutting-edge Predator monitor appeals to pro and power-hungry gamers seeking top-tier visual performance. The Predator X27 X balances resolution and performance with an eye-popping 4K UHD QD-OLED display and 240 Hz refresh rate to deliver smooth visuals of fast-moving frames. It is VESA DisplayHDR TrueBlack 400-certified, enhancing the dynamic range, offering deeper blacks and brighter highlights. It features Delta E<2 colour accuracy and 99% DCI-P3 colour gamut support for true-to-life colour reproduction."

Connectivity options on the Predator X27 X include two HDMI 2.1 ports and one DisplayPort 1.4 input, supporting both current-generation gaming consoles and PCs. The monitor also comes equipped with integrated 2W speakers, audio out, and a 75x75 mm VESA wall mounting interface, allowing for different desk setups or wall installation.

The display's technical specification highlights include a contrast ratio of 1,500,000:1, native brightness at 250 nits, and peak brightness of 1000 nits (HDR, 3% window). Viewing angles are rated at 178 degrees horizontally and vertically. Physical adjustments for the monitor include tilt from -5° to 25°, swivel of ±20°, pivot of ±90°, and up to 150 mm in height adjustment.

The Predator X27 X will become available in Australia in the fourth quarter of 2025. Pricing for the monitor has yet to be announced.

The new release is aimed at providing gamers and users seeking premium visual performance with choices that combine clarity, colour reproduction, and speed. The monitor's features are tailored to be compatible with a range of content, from fast-paced gaming to HDR video playback and content creation.
