Zettagrid, the Cloud Computing provider, announced the launch of SecondSite yesterday as their real time disaster recovery replication solution. According to Zettagrid, 47% of surveyed companies have experienced an outage or downtime. If companies aren't prepared, then recovering from the impact of a disaster can be a massive undertaking.
SecondSite is being introduced as a resource to remove the hassle and the financial burden, making it easier and more affordable than ever to get the security and risk mitigation one needs to protect their business and their customers.
SecondSite is expected to provide channel partners the ability to offer recovery site, data synchronisation, accessibility and activation for part or all of their customers’ virtual environment. Zettagrid says it will enable customers of channel partners to replicate their virtualised IT environment into Zettagrid’s cloud. If a disaster were to impact their operations, their IT is expected to be up and running within minutes until the primary site recovers.
“We believe SecondSite is the future of disaster recovery,” says Nathan Harman, Zettagrid managing director, “It’s the most affordable, quick and efficient disaster recovery solution available today. And because it’s scalable, it’s available to all businesses large or small. This is particularly beneficial for channel partners who work with a broad range of customers. Whether it’s one virtual machine (VM) or thousands of VMs, SecondSite delivers the same reliable and affordable solution.”
Zettagrid is hopeful that SecondSite will present an opportunity for channel partners to introduce their customers to cloud, virtual replication (VR), virtual data centres (VDC) and a range of managed services channel partners can provide them.
Matthew Kates, Zerto country manager, says "[SecondSite] is an innovative approach. With SecondSite built on Zerto's reliable cloud business continuity platform and utilising virtual replication, business of all sizes will benefit from the simplicity, reliability and substantial cost savings."
