Virtustream has announced a partnership with Dell Technologies Business to make its enterprise cloud platform and services available in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region, including Australia and New Zealand (ANZ).

The companies put forward recent research from IDC to illustrate the growing need for enterprise cloud services in the region is increasing - cloud systems infrastructure services revenue in APAC including Japan is forecast to reach $12.9 billion.

"The pent up demand for enterprise-level cloud services in the APAC region is tremendous as organisations are eager to globally scale their operations at a rapid pace; while also managing the complexities of migrating their existing systems of record to the cloud," says Frank Gens, IDC senior vice president and chief analyst.

"Add to that regional needs such as data sovereignty, and it narrows the playing field of providers significantly."

Virtustream is honing in on the ANZ region after establishing a cloud presence in Sydney and Canberra in order to serve the needs of both the enterprise and public sectors.

Vice president, Enterprise, Dell EMC ANZ, Mark Fioretto says the Virtustream and Dell EMC's cloud solution will create new ways for organisations to approach enterprise cloud.

"The platform offers the cost benefits of consumption billing, as well as increased security, compliance, application performance and disaster recovery," says Fioretto.

"The business of migrating mission-critical systems of record to the cloud is complex and requires specific expertise. Our customers require a multi-cloud strategy to truly transform their environments."

Fioretto says that between Virtustream and their service provider ecosystem, Dell EMC is ideally positioned to provide enterprise and public sector customers with the choice they need to digitally transform their organisations.
