Trend Micro earns top security certification for Australian govt
Trend Micro, a global player in cybersecurity, has announced the successful completion of its Information Security Manual PROTECTED level for the Trend Micro Vision One Platform. This assessment was conducted by an independent third party under the Australian Information Security Registered Assessors Program (IRAP). The accomplishment allows Australian Government agencies requiring the PROTECTED level to use the platform, marking a significant milestone in Trend Micro's series of global assessments, which include the US Government's FEDRAMP, SOCI2, and NIST.
This achievement underscores Trend Micro's commitment to supporting its customers' data security, compliance, and privacy needs. The company aims to extend its expertise to public sector customers and address the challenges of today's fast-evolving cybersecurity landscape.
Srujan Talakokkula, Managing Director at Trend Micro, Australia and New Zealand (ANZ), Commercial, said, "With the successful completion of the IRAP assessment at the PROTECTED level, we are proud to extend our solutions further to support the ongoing protection of the Australian public sector and critical infrastructure providers."
"Today, as many Australian government agencies adopt a cloud-first strategy and embrace AI capabilities, it is crucial to implement a comprehensive end-to-end cybersecurity strategy. The Trend Micro Vision One Platform not only meets these needs but also offers critical senior intelligence, such as a Cybersecurity Risk score, which provides real-time awareness of the environment's risk and security posture."
The Trend Micro Vision One Platform offers high-level cybersecurity, including robust attack surface risk management, cross-layer protection across hybrid environments, and next-generation Extended Detection and Response (XDR) enhanced by powerful generative AI technology. This unparalleled visibility and insights into events enable more proactive defence mechanisms, facilitating earlier detection and quicker incident response. Additionally, Trend Micro's Global Threat Intelligence and Expert Managed Services bolster these capabilities.
Martyn Beal, Federal Government Strategic Lead for Trend Micro, ANZ, Commercial, highlighted the opportunities this development brings for customers. "This is a huge opportunity for our customers as we take them on their cloud journey from on-premise to public, sovereign, and even protected cloud environments," he said. "We are excited to see the possibilities this brings as we further contribute to building a safe and secure Australian Government."
