Snowflake brings on A/NZ partner manager to support growth

Snowflake, the data warehouse designed for the cloud, has appointed a new channel and alliances manager for Australia and New Zealand.
Alana Sahakian has been employed by the company to help bolster the success of partners in the region, according to a statement.
Over the past year, Snowflake has signed up 15 new channel partners across Australia and New Zealand. This displays the company’s increased focus on the geographies and a greater demand for solutions that enable organisations to make better, data-driven decisions, the company says.
Based in Sydney, Sahakian will be responsible for managing and enabling Snowflake’s channel partner organisations within the region and facilitating joint go-to-market strategies and sales.
Prior to joining Snowflake, Sahakian was working in various positions in the IT industry. She was previously national partner sales manager for Australia and New Zealand at Tableau Software. In this role, she developed a new go-to-market license model, helped to build out the company’s partner base and supported new business.
Prior, Sahakian worked as business development executive for Oracle in New Zealand. In this position, she worked on developing new business for the organisation’s SaaS-based human capital management solutions.
Snowflake director alliances and channel, Asia Pacific and Japan, Guy Baldwin, says, “We are thrilled that Alana has joined Snowflake at this time.”
“Her skills and experience in delivering success will build upon the momentum which our partners are currently enjoying in supporting customers to become truly data-driven,” Baldwin says.
According to the company, Snowflake’s new partner growth follows locally strong, ongoing demand for its solutions. This is due to the fact that organisations are focusing more on centralising and sharing data to improve operations and ultimately benefit their end users.
Snowflake’s partner programme has been streamlined to reduce criteria and allow partners to focus on customers, the company states.

Snowflake’s cloud-built architecture is designed for organisations of any size to utilise data. According to Snowflake, customers are able to garner deeper insights due to the increased power and scalability of modern data warehousing and data analytics.
In addition, customers can securely share live data with revocable access rights across business units and with their partners and customers, Snowflake says.
