Siemens unveils new advancements for industrial AI at CES
Siemens has revealed new advancements in industrial AI and digital twin technology, presenting these developments at CES 2025 in Las Vegas.
The company introduced a series of innovations, including the Siemens Industrial Copilot for Operations, aimed at enhancing real-time decision-making on the factory floor. This development represents a shift towards utilising industrial AI tasks close to machinery to increase productivity and operational efficiency. "Industrial AI is a game-changer that will create significant positive impact in the real world across all industries," said Peter Koerte, Member of the Managing Board, Chief Technology Officer and Chief Strategy Officer at Siemens AG.
At the event, Siemens also announced that aviation startup JetZero has selected the Siemens Xcelerator platform to develop their new blended wing aircraft. The new aircraft aims to achieve better fuel efficiency, noise reduction, and zero carbon emissions by 2035. "Siemens is giving us the confidence to take a leap, not just a step, in revolutionising air travel," said Tom O'Leary, CEO of JetZero.
Further expanding its outreach to smaller businesses, Siemens introduced the "Siemens for Startups" programme. This initiative offers startups access to Siemens' technology through reduced costs, venture partnering, and collaboration support with Amazon Web Services.
Moreover, Siemens announced a collaboration with NVIDIA to enhance product lifecycle management (PLM) through improved visualisation capabilities. "Our continued collaboration with NVIDIA will be transformative for our customers, empowering them to virtualise and visualise product and plants like never before," stated Peter Koerte.
In partnership with Sony Corporation, Siemens has pioneered a new immersive engineering solution combining Siemens NX software with Sony's head-mounted display. "With 4K OLED Microdisplays, intuitive controls and the comfortable design, closely integrated with Siemens' advanced software, we firmly believe this new immersive engineering solution will pave the way for the future of engineering," expressed Seiya Amatatsu, from Sony's XR Technology Development Division.
Siemens also launched the Designcenter software suite to unify its portfolio of design and engineering software. This aims to make design solutions more accessible and scalable for businesses of all sizes. "Designcenter is unique in that it is truly open and accessible for everyone," commented Tony Hemmelgarn, President and CEO of Siemens Digital Industries Software.
The presence of Siemens at CES 2025 also included demonstrations of how its technology can be used in various industries. Examples featured at the event included innovative solutions from companies like Spinnova, Wayout International, Desert Control, and Arc, all utilising Siemens' technologies to advance their respective fields.
