Tue, 27th Feb 2024

Siemens is slated to make an impactful presence at this year's Light + Building 2024, unveiling innovative products and focusing on strategic partnerships to accelerate the shift towards sustainable infrastructure. The company plans to demonstrate how its technological solutions and collaborations can foster sustainability at a global scale across various industries.

Matthias Rebellius, Member of the Managing Board of Siemens AG and CEO of Smart Infrastructure at Siemens, highlighted the significant environmental impact of buildings, stating, "Nearly 40% of global energy emissions and 35% of energy demand globally are related to buildings." He underscored the importance of technology and collaboration in addressing this challenge: "Technology is a force of progress. It sits at the heart of addressing such challenges, particularly when it fosters industry-wide innovation and collaboration."

Rebellius expressed enthusiasm about showcasing Siemens' latest technological innovations and collaborative efforts with key partners to transform various aspects of daily life: "We are therefore delighted to not only be able to showcase our latest technological innovations, but also present how we are working with key partners to transform how we live, work, move, and make."

One of the major highlights of the Siemens booth at the trade fair will be the launch of one of the world's most advanced circuit protection devices by Siemens Smart Infrastructure. This breakthrough in circuit protection technology elevates safety and sustainability standards in electrical installations, utilising cutting-edge, ultrafast protection technology capable of switching up to a thousand times faster. It includes multiple functionalities in one device that can be tailored as per individual requirements, thereby enabling significant savings on resources.

Siemens will also feature Building X, an element of the Siemens Xcelerator portfolio built to manage and optimise building operations. This innovative platform aims to meet the rising demands of electrification, decarbonisation, and resource efficiency across buildings. Building X aims to be the industry's most open digital building platform, maximising data insights to boost user experience, performance, and sustainability.

The company will announce a new partnership with the Norwegian tenant relationship management platform provider Bember. The highlight is the X300 Edge Gateway, designed to enhance access control and make optimal use of parking space. Along with this, Siemens will introduce technologies to optimise space utilisation and streamline operations to address industry-wide challenges of improving energy efficiency and productivity of buildings.

Amongst other novelties, Siemens will reveal an interconnection between its SIMARIS busbar planning software and the BusbarCheck installation app. This user-friendly planning software aims to enable the creation of accurate and BIM-compliant digital representations of busbar runs, thereby ensuring thorough preparation before installation. The combination of these tools aims to simplify installation procedures and document the progress within the digital model, linking the installed product to its digital twin.
