Sennheiser unveils web-based AV platform for remote device control

Yesterday

Sennheiser has revealed plans to launch a new cloud-based AV management platform designed for use by IT and AV teams overseeing Sennheiser devices across multiple environments, with the initial roll-out scheduled for early 2026.

The platform aims to centralise set-up, control, and management of Sennheiser equipment, ranging from small meeting rooms to large campus installations. Built to operate entirely via a web browser, the system will not require installation and offers remote management capabilities, real-time diagnostics, and role-based access.

Device oversight

The company stated the platform would be built with remote oversight and flexibility as core tenets, allowing IT managers and system integrators to manage devices and locations efficiently, particularly in enterprise, education, and corporate settings. The new solution is said to support both extensive, multi-site configurations as well as smaller, single-room operations, providing scalability for evolving user requirements.

According to Sennheiser, remote management features will include diagnostics, alerts, and updates accessible from any location, with flexible account and location management making it straightforward to organise users and devices. The addition of role-based access supports improved collaboration among team members while seeking to strengthen security protocols.

Simplified set-up

Sennheiser highlighted the benefits of a web-based approach in simplifying deployment, with integrators and IT professionals able to initiate and configure systems through a browser without any software installation. This is intended to reduce the time and complexity associated with traditional device management.

The company confirmed that a centralised control hub will be at the core of the solution, designed to meet the requirements of both current and future AV infrastructure as customer needs shift and scale.

Emphasis on security

Data protection and privacy are being prioritised in the design, with Sennheiser outlining the use of encryption, authentication measures, and GDPR-compliant data handling processes as standard. The platform will incorporate modern IT security practices to protect both device data and user information, with strict privacy measures underpinning the system's architecture.

"While still in development, our powerful cloud-based platform for AV and IT teams will make device management simpler, more flexible, and more accessible," said Kai Tossing, Head of Product Management, Business Communication, Sennheiser. "The new platform will be a significant step forward, as we take many of the benefits users of our Control Cockpit software have experienced and make them available on a broader scale."

The press release emphasised the company's intention to address the management challenges faced by AV and IT professionals in distributed or multi-site organisations, stating that the platform is designed to keep teams connected, efficient, and in control across locations.

Industry context

Centralised management platforms for AV equipment have become increasingly relevant as organisations evolve towards hybrid and distributed workplaces. With the introduction of secure, cloud-based solutions, firms are able to reduce on-premises infrastructure needs while enhancing oversight capabilities. Sennheiser's announcement aligns with industry trends towards remote monitoring, security, and streamlined deployment processes.

The announcement also referenced the upcoming 80th anniversary of the Sennheiser brand in 2025, noting the company's continued presence in professional audio, microphone, meeting solution, streaming technology, and monitoring system sectors, alongside licensed consumer audio products operated by Sonova Holding AG.

Sennheiser indicated that further information will be shared as the project progresses towards its scheduled launch in early 2026.
