Secureworks invests in APAC team with new director and head of channel
Secureworks has appointed Demetrios Georgiou as director of APAC as it continues to expand across the region.
The global MSSP and cloud-native security solutions provider offers global threat intelligence, managed security and incident response to customers, partners and MSPs in the region.
Secureworks portfolio has been bolstered by its Taegis XDR platform, a cloud-native solution that combines Secureworks SecOps expertise and threat intelligence capabilities to detect and respond to attacks across cloud, endpoint and network environments.
Demetrios brings more than 17 years of experience across direct and channel sales from roles in Distribution, Tier 1 Software companies and SAS Security Vendors.
When asked about his decision to join Secureworks, Demetrios shared that it came from the opportunity for growth across the region.
He says, "I couldn't be more excited to join Secureworks at a time of astronomical growth, evidenced by Secureworks Taegis XDR reaching $100M in ARR within the first two years of launch."
The Secureworks Taegis XDR platform is designed to solve security teams biggest problems, that is, skills shortages, operational complexity, alert fatigue and threat visibility.
Demetrious says, "Secureworks is uniquely positioned to help organisations find the solution that solves security team's toughest challenges, and there's nothing better than knowing our work helps security analysts sleep easier and CISOs focus more time on strategy."
For Asia Pacific's Law Firm, Minter Ellison, client data is at the core of security operations and is crucial to the continued success of the business.
Sunil Saale, head of cyber and information security at the firm, says he sees Secureworks as an extension to the team and a critical partner for our security operations.
Saale says, "We generate over 2 billion events each month and that number is only increasing. With the help of Secureworks we are able to crunch that number down to 20-30 high fidelity alerts and that makes my teams job much easier.
"Having unparalleled access to threat reports and skillsets in the security domain helps us a long way in how we run our security operations."
Alongside building out customer relations, Secureworks has invested in the expansion of a partner program across Asia Pacific, appointing Murray Whitlocke-Jones as head of channel.
Murray says, "Developing strategic, trusted and enduring relationships with our partners is a key platform for growth across our business."
Secureworks continues to invest in its Global Partner Program and its resellers across the region. A distribution agreement with NEXTGEN is designed to accelerate growth of Secureworks cloud native Taegis XDR throughout the Asia Pacific region.
NEXTGEN Asia executive vice President - managing director in Singapore, Wendy OKeeffe, says, "We have been partnering with Secureworks for just over nine months across the APAC region, and I couldn't be happier with the partnership and the progress we have made together.
"Murray has been such a delight to work with. He is a seasoned professional, and he brings that experience to this region. There is a cultural fit alignment, with us both seeking growth, innovation and agility.
"With more than 20 years of experience across business growth roles and channel enablement, Murray is well placed and well-resourced to support the growth of Secureworks APAC alongside Demetrios."
