FYI, this story is more than a year old

Seagate Technology has launched its new retail portfolio into the ANZ market, unveiling a range of six new drives.

The new line-up includes the Seagate Seven portable drive, the Seagate Wireless, Seagate Personal Cloud and Personal Cloud 2-Bay, as well as two new drives from Seagate's premium LaCie brand, Lacie Mirror and LaCie Rugged Raid.

Seagate Wireless is the newest addition to the storage company's family of wireless storage solutions. The 500GB portable wireless drive is designed to stream HD videos on mobile devices and enable users to offload media to preserve storage space on smartphones and tablets.

And forget boring grey, it may be storage, but the Seagate Wireless comes in a range of vibrant colours, including lime green and fire-engine red.

For those looking for the accessibility of cloud storage with the peace of mind that content is stored safely at home, there's the Seagate Personal Cloud and Personal Cloud 2-Bay home storage devices.

Both devices enable users to stream content to smartphones, set-top boxes, PCs or television, vian the Seagate Media app. It can also be used in conjunction with the Seagate Mobile Backup app and Seagate Dashboard to serve as a central backup for all devices.

The Personal Cloud 2-Bay comes with two internal drives, which can be configured to automatically duplicate all content stored on one drive to a secondary drive for double protection and greater peace of mind; or as a single volume of storage for maximum capacity.

The Seven portable drive is an 500GB ultraslim external drive, just 7mm deep with an all-metal enclosure.

On the premium LaCie side, Seagate is offering up the LaCie Mirror, a 1TB drive encased in scratch resistant Corning Gorilla Glass, for an ‘elegant addition for any desktop or anywhere in the home'.

Also from the LaCie range, but this time tackling the rugged arena, is the LaCie rugged RAID, with 4TB capacity and offering twice the speed of a standard mobile hard drive. Seagate says the drive offers resistance to shock, dust and water for added data protection.

It also features hardware RAID 0 and 1, letting users optimise the product for speed or data security according to their workflow, and to use it on any Mac or PC. Thunderbolt and USB 3.0 are also included.
