Polycom has promoted Andrew Hug to the role of Asia Pacific and EMEA systems engineers area sales vice president.

In his new role, Hug will create a customer-focused strategy that combines securing customer insights and analysis, applying international best practices for product innovation, and enabling more fluid cross-company technical knowledge-sharing.

He will report directly to Asia Pacific, Africa and Europe senior vice president Marco Landi.

Within Australia and New Zealand, Hug will work closely with Polycom A/NZ Japan and Korea vice president Tony Simonsen to determine A/NZ regional customer needs.

The new role will harness the power of regional customers, both existing and new, to optimise the company’s unified communications solutions.

Hug and team will showcase Polycom’s solutions in their Executive Experience Centres such as the Trio Family, RealPresence Group Series, RealPresence Centro, Microsoft Skype Room systems, RealPresence Immersive Studio, and many more.

Hug is a seasoned industry veteran with extensive experience in the unified communications industry.

At Polycom, he was previously responsible for the technical sales consulting and demonstration facilities group across EMEA.

Prior to this he helped establish Polycom’s technical sales consulting function in China, Hong Kong and Singapore and was also involved in staff recruitment, customer engagement and partner advisory for the service providers.

Hug joined the company in 2001 from Accord where he was the support director covering EMEA and Asia Pacific, and was responsible for both pre- and post-sales support.

Landi comments, “I am pleased to have Andrew lead the systems engineering teams for Polycom in Asia Pacific and EMEA.

“The industry is on the cusp of digital revolution and a part of the challenge is to also identify the best practices that enable the two regions to work in coherence.”
