OpSys appoints Shanna Daly as first Chief Security Officer
OpSys Australia has announced the appointment of Shanna Daly as its inaugural Chief Information Security Officer.
Based in Sydney, Daly will oversee the company's cyber operations team and services. Her leadership aims to deliver the highest level of security, adhering to industry frameworks across all systems and data for both OpSys and its customers. In her new role, Daly is also tasked with enhancing cybersecurity service capabilities in managed services and consulting teams. She will collaborate with the business to develop comprehensive security strategies, manage internal security and risk assessments, and ensure compliance with relevant industry standards.
Matthew Fabri, Managing Director of OpSys Australia, commented, "2025 will be the year where service providers will increasingly be called upon to support customer cyber security resilience as a critical foundation to support digital business innovation. Shanna Daly is an industry visionary who has been working closely with customers in understanding their needs and transforming their cybersecurity posture for many years. We are very pleased to have her join the team as she will bring tremendous value to our customers and support our ongoing regional growth."
Daly brings more than 20 years of experience in the IT industry to her new position. She has previously held senior roles in consulting, systems engineering, forensics, incident response, and client services, most recently serving as Principal Consultant at Cosive.
Prior to her tenure at Cosive, Daly was the Director of Digital Forensics and Incident Response at ParaFlare. There, she built the consulting team and supported clients with detailed investigations into data breaches, ransomware incidents, and insider threats.
Daly also accumulated experience over a five-year period at Mandiant, where she held various roles, including ANZ Consulting Manager, Systems Engineer, and Senior Consultant for Incident Response. Early in her career, she worked in consulting and analyst roles at RSA and Verizon Enterprise Solutions, and as a Technical Support Representative with Fujitsu.
Shanna Daly stated, "I've known the senior management team at OpSys Australia for many years and I'm excited to work alongside them to reinforce OpSys's reputation as a renowned, world-class and respected cybersecurity and managed security services provider business across Australia."
She added, "While I will initially be focused on our cyber team, operations and service offerings, I'm also looking to see where we can innovate with additional functionality, expand services offerings and support accelerated growth across the Asia Pacific region."
