WatchGuard Technologies has appointed former HP and Ingram Micro staffer Gurkirat Singh as its Northern Region Territory sales manager.

Singh will be responsible for supporting new and existing channel partners, as well as account management and new business development in New South Wales, Queensland, ACT and Northern Territory.

Singh's role also includes developing strategies to generate leads and drive revenue.

He replaces Chas Doney, who left the role in February to take up the role of business development manager at Dicker Data.

Singh's previous roles include a stint at Ingram Micro Australia as HP business manager, before he moved on to HP, where he spent more than 10 years. During that time Singh was partner business manager for the Personal System Group, APJ channel and market development manager and then ANZ general manager for HP Networking.

David Higgins, WatchGuard Technologies ANZ regional director, says Singh  has a strong track record of success in sales and business development within IT and networking.

Singh will be based in Sydney.
