FYI, this story is more than a year old

Silver Peak has signed a new distribution deal with NEC Networks and System Integration Corporation which will see local NEC businesses able to sell Silver Peak solutions.

NEC Networks and System Integration Corporation (NESIC) is taking on global distribution for Silver Peak's Unity EdgeConnect SD-Wan solution and will offer turnkey system integration services.

Graham Schultz, Silver Peak Australia and New Zealand boss, says while the deal has been signed with NESIC in Japan, all other NEC groups, including those in Australia and New Zealand will have access to the products and pricing.

Maintenance and support services will be delivered by NESIC global partner NCR Group.

The deal will see NESIC focusing on enterprises using cloud-based services with 100 or more global offices. Initial targets will be the manufacturing, financial and services sector markets.

“EdgeConnect is ideally suited to provide NESIC clients with secure and reliable virtual overlays to connect users to applications with the flexibility to use any combination of underlying transport technologies without compromising network or application performance,” Silver Peak says.

“This allows enterprises to confidently accelerate cloud initiatives, realise substantial cost savings and attain greater business agility.

Yukinobu Noguchi, NEC Networks and System Integration Corporation general manager, says the company is seeing escalating demand for SD-Wan technologies from both local and global clients.

“With EdgeConnect, we can deliver turnkey integration services with comprehensive support, allowing our clients to confidently embrace cloud services, deliver predictable application performance and embark on a shift toward low-cost broadband connectivity,” he says.
