NBN Co names Paul Tyler as its new chief customer officer
Thu, 8th Feb 2018
FYI, this story is more than a year old

NBN Co today announced the appointment of Paul Tyler as its new chief customer officer for business, replacing John Simon, whose retirement was announced last year. Tyler previously served as group managing director of Telstra business and has 25 years of experience in running ICT businesses across Europe, APAC and ANZ.

He also served as APJ president for Nokia, where he held full sales, operational and Profit and Loss (P-L) responsibility for Nokia's business in the Asia Pacific region.

Paul will report to the CEO and will be a member of the executive committee based in Sydney. NBN Co chief executive officer Bill Morrow says, "NBN has benefited greatly from John's leadership and many contributions over a five-year tenure. Over the last seven months, John has built a dedicated business segment team that Paul will now lead to take us to the next level. “Paul is a high calibre executive with significant experience and a proven track record. I'm delighted to have him as part of our team and look forward to seeing him drive significant momentum in this vital part of our business.” The company also has also announced the impending departure of chief corporate affairs officer, Karina Keisler. Keisler joined NBN in June 2014 and was responsible for assembling and leading a skilled team that was tasked with overseeing social media, employee communications, external affairs, government relations and corporate social responsibility.

She was also responsible for driving diversity and took on the role of the company's gender diversity ambassador. Keisler will remain with the company until its full-year results are reported in mid-August of this year. Morrow says NBN is sorry to see her go.

“Karina has led us through countless press briefings, senate hearings, community engagements and employee activities in arguably one of the hardest communications and government relations roles in the country,” he says. “While we are sorry to lose her, Karina leaves us with a strong team who will continue to report on our progress, clarify the facts, and help manage the reputation of the company.” NBN says they will begin searching for Keisler's replacement immediately.
