N-able launches new feature to boost vulnerability management

Fri, 11th Apr 2025

N-able has launched its new Vulnerability Management feature for its Unified Endpoint Management (UEM) products, N-central and N-sight.

This new feature is designed to help organisations identify, prioritise, remediate, and report vulnerabilities across all major operating systems. Its integration into the UEM solutions aims to provide IT teams with a single, unified view, streamlining vulnerability management.

Amid the increasing volume of vulnerabilities and attacks, which rose to an average of 133 CVEs disclosed daily in 2025, the need for efficient Vulnerability Management has become critical for IT providers and small and medium-sized enterprises. Vulnerabilities within operating systems or applications often serve as the entry point for cyber exploits, necessitating effective Vulnerability Management processes.

With N-able's built-in Vulnerability Management feature, IT professionals can now continuously identify and mitigate risks more efficiently. The feature provides comprehensive visibility over OS and application vulnerabilities, offering important details like severity scoring and CVE specifics. This aids in rapidly prioritising vulnerabilities across Windows, Mac, and Linux endpoints.

Unifying Vulnerability Management with UEM workflows allows a streamlined process to identify, prioritise, and remediate vulnerabilities. This integration is expected to improve efficiency by enabling IT teams to utilise automated remediation workflows, such as patch management and software management, thereby saving time and resources.

Additional existing capabilities continue to play a role, including continuous network device scanning and extensive software management, encompassing inventory, installation, and uninstallation processes. These tools aim to better manage and safeguard organisations' attack surfaces.

Jim Waggoner, VP of Product Management at N-able, noted the positive reception from partners: "Our partners are thrilled with our new built-in capabilities to identify vulnerabilities within their applications and operating systems and remediate them, all through the UEM. This feature empowers them to offer enhanced services to their customers and significantly reduce business risk. Insights from the solution preview reveal that our customers had on average, three vulnerable applications per endpoint that can now be efficiently resolved, leading to a more secure and stable environment."

N-able also indicated plans to broaden their services, aiming to include network and cloud vulnerability management in future enhancements. Such developments are intended to provide a more comprehensive approach to security, addressing a broader spectrum of digital infrastructure concerns.
