FYI, this story is more than a year old

Mimecast has today announced the appointment of Jonathan Corini to the role of senior vice president of global channel sales.

Corini will oversee the strategy and execution of the company's global channel programme, with the appointment aiming to unify and strengthen Mimecast's commitment to the channel. The company says Corini will work closely with the teams to ensure alignment and maximise the value for partners.

“As a leading cybersecurity and resilience provider to organisations using Microsoft 365, there's a huge opportunity to grow in the enterprise while also serving small and medium businesses, and we can't do that without the channel,” says Mimecast chief revenue officer Dino DiMarino.

“Jonathan has a long history of success in channel management and sales, and his leadership will strengthen our global channel strategy. His hands-on approach will help regional sales leaders and other internal and external stakeholders evolve our approach.

“With Jonathan's guidance, we'll ensure our program provides strong value to our channel partners, tech partners and customers.

Corini brings over 20 years of technology and channel experience, joining from Forescout Technologies where he was vice president of worldwide channel sales. Here he led a team which delivered a customer-first mission to the company's channel partners, which spanned across 90 countries and 1,000 resellers.

Under Corini's leadership, Forescout saw its channel programme receive CRN's 5-Star Award three years in a row for the Envision Partner Program.

Prior to Forescout, Corini held management roles at Tanium, Intel Security and McAfee.

“Mimecast leans on partners as strategic advisors to help expand our global business,” says Corini.

“As we plan to grow in the enterprise market, Mimecast's technology partners, systems integrators and reseller community will be pivotal to that success.

“Exponential growth can be achieved when everyone is aligned and working towards the same set of goals. Mimecast's culture is infused with so much drive to make the world a more resilient place.

“I look forward to leveraging my experience building and growing successful channel partner programs to further Mimecast's footprint in the Enterprise, Commercial, SMB and MSP markets.”

The news of the appointment comes after Mimecast released a study named ‘100 Days of Coronavirus', which analysed some of the most prominent threats seen by organisations returning to the office but maintaining a balanced office/remote working strategy.

The report found that between January and the end of March, spam/opportunistic detections increased by 26.3%, malware detections increased 35%, impersonation detections increased by 30%, and URL click blocking increased by a significant 56%.

With fewer safeguards in place at home than on corporate networks, malicious content is more likely to reach employees, which can do severe damage, the report found.
