Micro Focus named a Leader in IDC MarketScape report
Fri, 8th Jul 2022
FYI, this story is more than a year old

Micro Focus has been named a Leader in the IDC MarketScape Worldwide Unified Endpoint Management Software for Small and Midsize Businesses 2022 vendor assessment report.

The company says that its ranking in the IDC Marketscape matrix supports its strategy to focus on the key small and midsize business market differentiation as the vendor of choice to support traditional and modern device management.

“Micro Focus supports a broad range of Windows policy enforcement capabilities with an on-device agent that can offer deeper levels of control and management as opposed to over-the-air unified endpoint management (UEM) Windows management tools that rely only on the mobile device management (MDM) protocol for modern PC management,” the report notes.

Micro Focus was also recognised as a “major player” in a further three IDC MarketScape reports in May:

  • IDC MarketScape Worldwide Unified Endpoint Management Software 2022 vendor assessment.

  • IDC MarketScape Worldwide Unified Endpoint Management for Ruggedised/IoT Device Deployments Software 2022 vendor assessment.

  • IDC MarketScape Worldwide Unified Endpoint Management for Apple Devices 2022 vendor assessment.

“[Micro Focus] ZENworks can manage devices efficiently in remote locations by detecting the location of the end user (via the UEM desktop agent) and provision the right set of applications and restrictions, depending on where the worker is (i.e., in the office, at home, or traveling),” the report continues.

“This can be coupled with remote management capabilities to help troubleshoot devices.

Acknowledging the rising challenges of a remote workforce, additional pressures of regulatory compliance and cyber crime, Micro Focus says companies are seeing the need to strengthen their data operations to foster sustained business growth as well as simply avoiding these threats.

Micro Focus Unified Endpoint Management allows businesses to intelligently navigate the current UEM landscape, in particular those with small IT teams that deal with thousands of devices with only three or four people.

Micro Focus notes this offering is a significant point of difference in the current climate, which involves expecting IT to do more with less.

Additionally, this offering supports the remote workforce and manages critical areas in the current UEM environment including patch management verification, asset management, endpoint security, service desk software and data analytics.

Further, the platform is ideal for IT teams operating in small or medium-sized businesses because it can include multiple IT functions in a single product.

Micro Focus says regarding single vendor-management and product integration, ZENworks UEM is generally more helpful for larger firms using a range of Micro Focus products such as identity, data protection or security products.

“We're thrilled with the evaluation of Micro Focus, as it serves as an indicator that we are meeting the increasingly challenging needs of the remote worker and customers who want to condense the number of software tools,” Micro Focus information management and governance solutions vice president Rick Carlson says.

“Micro Focus is proud of the recognition from IDC MarketScape for UEM SMB and this only enhances our commitment to customer satisfaction.
