Liveware acquires 4mation to boost AI & consulting services
Liveware Group has acquired 4mation Technologies, a Sydney-based software development agency, in a move that broadens its global advisory and delivery footprint. The deal brings together Liveware's consulting and business transformation services with 4mation's AI-led engineering capabilities.
Sector consolidation
The acquisition reflects wider consolidation within the technology services industry. Technology agencies are responding to market changes shaped by artificial intelligence and the increasing pace of digital transformation initiatives. Many companies now seek partners who can do more than traditional software development, including data-driven process redesign and responsible AI adoption.
Combined capabilities
The integration of Liveware and 4mation results in a combined group positioned to serve mid-sized and enterprise clients managing legacy infrastructure, siloed data, and rising project delivery costs. By joining technical engineering expertise with strategic advisory, the group aims to offer solutions that cover both technology and business processes.
"Together, we are creating something greater than the sum of its parts. 4mation's deep technical expertise in AI-powered software development, combined with Liveware's global consulting and delivery capability, means we can deliver measurable transformation for our clients with speed, scale, and certainty," said Mirza Juddani, CEO & Managing Director, Liveware Group.
Client benefits
Clients of 4mation will continue to work with the same brand but will now have access to Liveware's international network, including delivery centres in Sydney, Manila, and Bucharest. The expanded team will offer additional capacity, integrated technical and business expertise, and a global delivery model aimed at managing costs and maintaining service quality.
According to the companies, their services will focus on delivering measurable business outcomes by supporting digital strategy, AI integration, software engineering, and operational optimisation all within a single partner relationship.
"This is a real catalyst for growth for our clients and our team. Now that we're part of Liveware, we're set up to offer more, deliver better, and keep doing what we're best at, building great software for our clients," said Edward Wong, Head of Strategy & AI, 4mation.
Australian focus
Liveware says its investment demonstrates a long-term commitment to the Australian market. While some consulting groups treat Australia as a minor base, Liveware has described the country as a hub for building technology solutions with global application. The acquisition of 4mation, which has been operating for over two decades, is seen as strengthening local capability while bringing in international resources.
Continuing operation
4mation will retain its brand and team, maintaining client relationships developed over several years. The combined business will serve clients across sectors such as finance, healthcare, insurance, government, and retail, offering support from system modernisation to AI deployment.
The agreement occurs as AI adoption accelerates and client expectations shift towards measurable outcomes from technology projects. Liveware and 4mation intend to address these demands with cross-functional teams spanning strategy, engineering, and operational enablement.
