Lenovo names Tolga Kurtoglu as new CTO, forms tech group

Lenovo has announced the appointment of Dr. Tolga Kurtoglu as the group’s new Chief Technology Officer (CTO). Dr. Kurtoglu will succeed Dr. Yong Rui in this role as the company moves to refine its technology vision and strengthen its leadership in artificial intelligence (AI).

In a related development, Lenovo has also formed a new Emerging Technology Group aimed at identifying and leveraging emerging technological trends for future business growth. Dr. Yong Rui, who has served as Lenovo's CTO for the past seven years, will now lead this new group as President.

Dr. Kurtoglu has built a reputation in the IT industry through his leadership roles at major technology firms. His prior positions include Chief Technology Officer of HP Inc. and Global Head of HP Labs, Chief Executive Officer of Xerox Palo Alto Research Center, and head of the product development group at Dell. He holds several patents and has published numerous papers in the areas of automation, machine intelligence, computational design, systems engineering, and digital manufacturing.

Dr. Yong Rui also commented on his new role leading the Emerging Technology Group. As CTO, Dr. Kurtoglu will oversee Lenovo's Research team and innovation ecosystem, ensuring that the group’s technological vision aligns with overall business objectives. He will also serve on Lenovo's Executive Committee and contribute to the leadership team's strategic decisions.
