Wed, 24th Jul 2024

Konica Minolta Australia has published its 2024 Australian IT trends report, titled 'Driving digital transformation,' which reveals comprehensive insights into the current trends, challenges, and opportunities in the Australian IT market.

The report is the result of a survey conducted in April 2024, involving 200 IT decision-makers from various sectors across Australia.

The findings highlight the pace of digital transformation in Australian businesses, with significant adoption of technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and cloud solutions. The survey results also show an increasing emphasis on data protection and information security, reflecting a broader global focus on regulatory compliance and cybersecurity.

John Harding, General Manager of Managed Services at Konica Minolta Australia, emphasised the report's significance.

"The 2024 Konica Minolta Australian IT trends: Driving digital transformation report provides critical insights that can help businesses align their IT strategies with their broader organisational goals," he said.

"The report highlights the importance of future-proof technologies such as AI and cloud solutions and demonstrates that engagement with managed services providers (MSPs) for IT consulting and strategy is essential for many organisations."

Harding added: "MSPs are not just service providers; they are strategic partners that offer the expertise and resources necessary to manage complex IT projects."

The report explores evolving data management scenarios that influence IT leaders' decision-making processes and strategic priorities across different sectors. The role of IT services in supporting businesses to achieve digital transformation goals is highlighted as a key aspect.

Key findings from the survey include that improving operational efficiency is a top priority for 68 per cent of C-suite executives, while profitability and risk mitigation are focal points for 71 per cent and 68 per cent of these executives, respectively.

The findings also indicate that Microsoft 365 holds a prominent place among IT tools, with an adoption rate of 73 per cent and a satisfaction score of 82 per cent. Future investments are likely to be directed towards cloud solutions (60 per cent) and AI-driven applications (50 per cent).

Nearly half of the respondents (49 per cent) engage with MSPs for both IT consulting and strategy, as well as for IT support and helpdesk services. This underscores the importance of MSPs as strategic partners in managing the complexities of modern IT projects.

"Companies can use these insights to benchmark their IT strategies and re-evaluate their investments to ensure they're putting their money towards enhancing operational efficiency, profitability, and security. Investing in these areas will be crucial for maintaining a competitive edge as businesses continue to scale and evolve in a rapidly changing market landscape," Harding added.

The survey touches on the paramount need for businesses to stay ahead by adopting advanced IT solutions. This encompasses aspects such as operational efficiency, profitability, and risk mitigation. The report's findings underline the necessity for businesses to integrate AI, cloud computing, and robust information security measures to thrive in the current and future IT environment.

Konica Minolta has committed to assisting organisations in navigating these changes.

Harding added: "Konica Minolta is committed to partnering with organisations navigating these changes and implementing solutions that drive innovation and growth."

"The 2024 Australian IT trends: Driving digital transformation report provides actionable insights that can help businesses navigate the complexities of digital transformation, enhance their operational capabilities, and stay ahead in a rapidly evolving landscape."
