IBM expands Delinea partnership to strengthen identity security

Delinea and IBM have expanded their original equipment manufacturer (OEM) agreement, which will see IBM customers worldwide gain access to the full Delinea Platform for privileged identity and access management.

This development builds upon the partnership between the two companies that began in 2018. The newly expanded agreement is expected to enable broader deployment of Delinea's cloud-native solutions, offering unified identity security capabilities for IBM clients.

Identity security focus

The Delinea Platform gives enterprises the ability to centralise authorisation and secure both human and machine identities. According to Delinea, these capabilities are designed to address the evolving needs of organisations as identity remains prominent in the threat landscape.

Art Gilliland, Chief Executive Officer at Delinea, said, "Identity is at the forefront of the modern threat landscape. By deepening our collaboration with IBM, we're bringing a new level of sophistication to identity security. Our unified platform capabilities enhance visibility and control, empowering enterprises to manage risks more proactively and drive greater business success."

The full Delinea Platform will be integrated into the IBM Verify Privileged Identity Platform and is scheduled for availability to IBM customers towards the end of 2025. By delivering these services as part of IBM's existing offering, organisations are expected to benefit from enhanced oversight and management of privileged credentials and assets.

Global availability and customer impact

The announcement confirms that IBM customers will be able to leverage the full suite of Delinea's identity security tools. This includes capabilities for discovery and management of all identities-spanning workforce, IT administrators, development staff, and machine accounts-along with access control, monitoring, anomaly detection, and real-time response mechanisms.
