Genetec to open new R&D hubs & Experience Centres worldwide
Genetec, the provider of unified security, public safety, operations, and business intelligence solutions, has announced its ambitious plans to enhance its global footprint. As part of its commitment to fostering innovation and meeting rising demand, the company is set to open several new research and development (R&D) hubs and Experience Centres, alongside the expansion of existing offices worldwide.
The new R&D hubs are strategically located in Vienna (Austria), Krakow (Poland), and Orléans (France). These centres will complement Genetec's already extensive network of innovation facilities, which include its Montréal headquarters and centres in Quebec City and Sherbrooke (Canada), Paris (France), and Bruges (Belgium). These hubs are designed to promote collaboration among developers and bolster the company's initiatives in areas such as intelligent automation.
"Our newest R&D centres will bolster existing initiatives and new capabilities such as intelligent automation," stated Christian Morin, Vice President of Product Engineering at Genetec. "It is not surprising that to meet the growing demand for Genetec innovation, we've expanded our R&D team by 50% over the past five years."
In addition to R&D hubs, Genetec is expanding its reach with new state-of-the-art Experience Centres in Washington D.C. (USA), Sydney (Australia), and Dubai (UAE). These will join the company's established flagship centres located in Montréal (Canada), Paris (France), the City of London (UK), Singapore, and Mexico City (Mexico). This expansion is aimed at providing customers, channel partners, and potential clients with hands-on experiences with Genetec's innovative technology.
Genetec's Montréal headquarters have also seen significant growth, with the addition of over 100,000 square feet of space, including two subsidised bistros for employees. Offices in London, Paris, Vienna, and São Paulo (Brazil) have similarly been expanded to accommodate the increasing scale of operations.
Michel Chalouhi, Vice President of Global Sales at Genetec, underscored the importance of these expansions. "By launching new experience centres and offices in these strategic locations, we're not just expanding our global presence; we're scaling to meet the increasing demand for Genetec solutions across the globe. Our goal is to provide customers, channel partners, and prospects a hands-on encounter with our innovative technology and an unforgettable brand experience," he said.
Since 2020, Genetec has experienced significant growth, increasing its total headcount by 52%. The company, which now boasts over 2,100 employees across 20 offices spanning four continents, continues to recruit extensively. Genetec is looking to fill over 80 new positions, including more than 30 roles in R&D, to support its organic growth across the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific regions.
