Everspin Technologies, the world's leading developer and manufacturer of Magnetoresistive Random Access Memory (MRAM) persistent memory solutions, has announced its plans to expand its top-grade, high-density STT-MRAM product family, the EMxxLX. Initially introduced last year, the EMxxLX product is currently the highest-performing persistent memory available, perfectly suited for a variety of electronic systems including industrial IoT, network and enterprise infrastructure, process automation and control, aeronautics and avionics, medical, gaming and FPGA configuration.

Developed using Everspin's unique STT-MRAM technology, the EMxxLX, an industry-first xSPI serial interface persistent memory, is the sole commercially available persistent memory with a full read and write bandwidth of 400 megabytes per second using eight I/O signals with a clock frequency of 200MHz. The latest extended EMxxLX range executes the prime combination of performance, endurance, and retention, with capacities now in available densities ranging from 4 to 64 megabits. Further advancements include new, compact packaging for products from 4-to-16-megabits, as well as a new 5mm x 6mm DFN package that offers an area saving of 37% over existing offerings.

The enhanced EMxxLX products also boast an extended temperature range of -40C to 105C, offering robustness and adaptability to a wide range of environmental conditions. Given these strides in technology and design, Everspin's MRAM product range can effectively replace alternative solutions such as SRAM, BBSRAM, FRAM, NVSRAM, and NOR flash devices.

The 4Mb capacity option, presented in the smaller DFN package, is now available for sample testing, with full production scheduled for the first quarter of 2024. Everspin is currently taking production orders for the 8Mb to 64Mb capacity options, which also offer the extended temperature range.
