Dicker Data has signed a distribution deal with Paessler, offering up the vendor's network monitoring software to help Australian resellers minimise outages and reduce costs.

Paessler's PRTG Network Monitor is a monitoring solution which includes a ‘comprehensive set of features, easy-to-use interface and state-of-the-art monitoring engine which is suitable for networks of any size', Dicker Data says.

Andrew Timms, Paessler APAC sales director, says IT administrators face new challenges, such as virtualisation, cloud computing and internet of things, every day.

“PRTG Network Monitor helps network admins stay on top of these challenges with a solution that has proved its value in more than 150,000 installations worldwide,” Timms says.

“We are convinced that this new alliance [with Dicker Data] will help Australian resellers and service providers meet the increasing demand for an easy to use and fairly priced unified monitoring solution.

Dicker Data says PRTG assures the availability of all network components within an IT-infrastructure, and measures traffic and usage, saving costs by avoiding outages, optimising connections, workload and quality, while saving time and controlling service level agreements.

The solution offers about 200 pre-built sensors specifically designed for monitoring quality of service, websites, email servers, applications, databases, virtual environments and many others.

The new distribution deal follows hard on the heels of Paessler's announcement that it is revamping its partner program to transition away from rebate-based rewards to a deal registration model with additional margins.
