FYI, this story is more than a year old

Deloitte Australia has acquired Oracle integrator Dataweave in an effort strengthen its local Oracle capability.

Forty of Dataweaves staff and directors will join Deloitte, with the deal taking effect earlier this week.

Craig Smith, leader of Deloitte's Oracle practice in Australia, says the deal is in response to client demand, particularly around the transition to cloud solutions.

“This transaction is the next step in executing Deloitte's strategy of investment to bolster its Oracle capabilities in the region,” Smith says.

“Bringing the team from Dataweave into Deloitte will extend the firm's capability to shape and support the C-suite agenda.

The deal continues something of a buying spree for Deloitte, which has acquired several technology companies in recent times.

Dataweave is an Oracle systems integrator, providing a range of services to public sector and commercial organisations, including consultancy, systems integration, application development, managed services, software licenses and hardware services.

Robert Hilliard, Deloitte Consulting managing partner, says the addition of Dataweave's team to Deloitte's ‘brings together exactly the capabilities that Australian business and government are looking for to support their business transformation goals and deal with changing markets, technology and client expectations'.

Norman Weaver, Dataweave managing director, says joining Deloitte ‘provides us with the opportunity to leverage its infrastructure to support the growth of its business'.

Terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
