FYI, this story is more than a year old

Ingram Micro Cloud has postponed the Cloud Summit 2020 to early next year, amidst growing concerns over the COVID-19 outbreak.

The event was set to take place in Miami Beach, Florida over three days from 12-14 May 2020.

"Ingram Micro Cloud has been closely monitoring the situation surrounding the outbreak of COVID-19 (coronavirus). The health and well-being of all attendees and exhibitors is the company's top priority and out of an abundance of caution, the company announced it will postpone this year's Cloud Summit to early 2021," the company says in a statement.

"We want to thank our speakers, partners, sponsors and the City of Miami Beach for their support in making this difficult but correct decision," says Adam Christensen, head of Cloud Global Marketing and Communications at Ingram Micro.

"We look forward to our next gathering of cloud leaders and innovators, as we continue to support growth in the cloud ecosystem," he said.

The organisers of the event say Ingram Micro Cloud remains committed to bringing the largest cloud channel event to Miami Beach.

Since first convening in 2009, Cloud Summit is considered the premier global event that brings together innovators and problems solvers to 'help the world do more'.

Attendees to the Cloud Summit are given the opportunity to network with more than 2,000 cloud professionals, including the global resellers, service providers and vendors. There are a range of presentations and keynotes hosted by industry luminaries that have included SAP's CEO, VMware's COO and Morgan Stanley's vice chairman in past years.

Attendees are among the first to see new technologies in action, including the latest in SaaS, IaaS, XaaS and IoT, and have the chance to build and expand channel revenue dramatically by tapping into the event's cloud-buying network.

This year's keynote speakers included Nimesh Davé, EVP Global Cloud, Ingram Micro; Tim FitzGerald, vice president, Cloud Channel Sales, North America; Ingram Micro, Tarik Faouzi, VP, CloudBlue; and Takeshi Numoto, corporate vice president, Cloud Marketing, Microsoft.

The event also included the The Cloud Summit Partner Awards, which celebrate the success of the company's top partners across the globe. Award categories include Reseller Partner of the Year, Marketplace Growth Partner of the Year, Solutions Partner MVPs, and Rookie Partner of the Year.

Registrants are encouraged to visit the Cloud Summit FAQ site for questions related to the rescheduling of the event. A new date for 2021 has not yet been finalised.
