Chris Murphy joins G Squared to head new performance division
Chris Murphy, the former general manager of The Hallway, has joined digital consultancy G Squared to spearhead a newly established performance creative division. This strategic move comes in response to growing client demand for high-performing and effective digital media campaigns.
Murphy, who brings extensive experience from creative agencies in both the UK and Australia, including Wunderman Thompson, BWM Dentsu, Saatchi and Saatchi London, and Grey London, joined G Squared after a successful tenure at The Hallway. At The Hallway, he initiated the agency's performance arm before advancing to the role of general manager, serving clients like BINGE, GWM Haval, and Tourism Fiji.
George Photios, co-founder and director of performance at G Squared, noted the evolving media landscape and shifting client needs. He emphasised that delivering high-impact creative solutions that are iterative, scalable, and result-driven is now essential for achieving strong returns on marketing investments. He expressed confidence in Murphy's ability to build this new offering and help clients realise their business growth targets.
Murphy, appointed as the head of creative, will now lead the new service division. This role will involve working closely with G Squared's consultants and clients to develop and execute impactful creative campaigns across various digital channels. Speaking on his appointment, Murphy highlighted the importance of immediate and optimisable campaigns in the current economy, expressing his eagerness to lead the performance creative initiatives at G Squared.
In addition to his professional achievements, Murphy is recognised for his contributions to the industry. He was accepted into the prestigious Marketing Academy in 2022, serves as an UnLtd Ambassador for Good, and was named an Emerging Leader in 2021. He also launched a YouTube channel, "Sh*t. What now?," aimed at aiding young professionals in entering the advertising industry.
The launch of G Squared's new performance creative division is part of the consultancy's broader strategy to enhance its capabilities in delivering impactful, integrated campaigns. In a recent development, G Squared appointed John Phung as head of data and analytics. Phung's role focuses on leading data analysis and reporting capabilities across creative, paid media, SEO, and web, providing strategic insights to maximise investment decisions through best practice attribution models.
G Squared, an award-winning consultancy based in Sydney and Brisbane, continues to innovate its offerings to drive real business results for clients. The addition of Murphy and the establishment of the performance creative division represent the latest steps in G Squared's commitment to meeting the evolving needs of its clients and delivering measurable outcomes through advanced digital solutions.
