Change at the top for Kinetic IT as 'evolution' looms
Thu, 25th Feb 2016
FYI, this story is more than a year old

Kinetic IT has a new boss, with Michael North taking over as chief executive from brother Terry North.

The Perth-based ICT managed services provider says the changes are part of a long-term succession plan and follow a record year of growth which has seen the company grow to more than 1200 staff nationally.

The company is now entering a five-year period of evolution with a fresh company strategy that will see it expanding its service portfolio to increase capabilities in security services, new ‘as-a-service' offerings and more, Michael North says.

Terry North, who co-founded the company in 1995, will move to a non-executive board role, after seven years at the helm of Australia's largest privately owned ICT managed services provider.

“The leadership change is an important part of our succession plan and reflects the company's growing maturity and national focus,” Terry North says, adding that the company is strongly positioned, holding some of Australia's largest and most complex ICT managed services contracts.

Michael North has held a range of operational and executive roles at Kinetic IT over the past 17 years, most recently as chief strategy officer and chief operating officer.

Michael North says 2015 was a ‘massive' year for the company, which won major contracts in Victoria and New South Wales.

“As we look to bed down these important new clients, it's the right time for us to build on our strong foundation and prepare for future growth,” he says.
