Blue Coat named a Magic Quadrant Leader yet again
Tue, 16th Jun 2015
FYI, this story is more than a year old

Blue Coat Systems, the enterprise security provider, has been positioned in the ‘leaders' quadrant in Gartner's Magic Quadrant for Secure Web Gateways (SWG) 2015.

This is the eighth consecutive year Gartner has recognised Blue Coat as a leader in the Secure Web Gateway category.

In order to select ‘leaders', Gartner evaluates vendors on their ability to execute as well as the completeness of vision of their products in the SWG market.

Blue Coat's Secure Web Gateway provides real-time intelligence and policy-driven security capabilities.

It has broad and flexible deployment options to give customers the ability to consistently apply security policy and techniques for users worldwide.

The integration of Blue Coat's on-premise technologies with its cloud infrastructure provides customers the flexibility to leverage their security technology investments and apply them consistently while preserving user experience and reducing cost, the vendor says.

Blue Coat believes its on-premise, cloud-based and hybrid SWG offerings provide a number of advanced features and supports a broad set of protocols as well as extensive authentication and directory integration options.

Gartner's Magic Quadrant for SWGs also includes Challengers, such as Cisco and Intel Security (McAfee), Niche Players such as Barracuda Networks, Trend Micro, Symantec and Sophos, and Visionaries. Zscaler and Websense share the Leader box with Blue Coat.
