Axis opens Sydney innovation hub to boost tech collaboration
Axis Communications has announced the opening of its Axis Experience Centre in Ryde, Sydney, expanding its global network of innovation hubs.
The newly established Axis Experience Centre (AEC) in Macquarie Park, a prominent technology precinct in New South Wales, is the second facility of its kind in Australia. It joins other centres strategically located in cities like Singapore, New York, London, and Santiago, aiming to foster collaborative technological advancements. The centre is poised to be a hands-on, immersive environment for customers, technology partners, and industry leaders to experience Axis' latest innovations addressing industry-specific challenges.
Wai King Wong, Regional Director, Oceania, Axis Communications, said, "We are proud to open our Sydney Axis Experience Centre today and bring this world-class innovation space to one of Australia's fastest-growing technology hubs."
"This centre reflects our ongoing investment in the region and our belief that innovation thrives when people come together to collaborate, test ideas, and explore what's possible."
The Sydney AEC will feature key technologies, such as AI-powered video analytics for people flow and object detection, hybrid cloud and edge solutions, radar and thermal imaging, smart city environmental sensors, and various application audio management platforms. These technologies are tailored to aid industries in improving their operational efficiency and security measures.
The centre's official opening was marked by a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by Axis Communications representatives, Swedish Deputy Ambassador Nils Hedberg Grimlund, and Ryde Mayor Trenton Browne. This event underscored the significance of collaborative efforts among business, governmental bodies, and the technology sector in bolstering Australia's innovative landscape.
Wong commented, "This is not just a showcase of what Axis can do. It's a place where we invite our customers and partners to innovate with us. We're here to support local organisations with the tools, knowledge, and technologies they need to build smarter operations and stronger communities."
The centre aims to be a significant asset across various sectors, including transportation, government, retail, healthcare, and education. It is designed to facilitate knowledge-sharing and provide a dedicated area for co-development and training, assisting organisations in navigating and leveraging emerging technologies to address their dynamic demands.
