Boomi, a Dell Technologies business, has announced the winners of the company's annual customer programme that took place at Boomi World in Washington D.C.

Australian organisations Anglicare Southern Queensland, the University of Melbourne (UoM), ORIX Australia and Flinders University secured four of the seven awards on the back of modernisation projects which resulted in accelerated business outcomes during the past year.

The Boomi World awards recognise customers that are managing complex data challenges and leading strategic projects, including everything from Internet of Things (IoT) projects to setting up effective data governance capabilities, using the Boomi Atomsphere Platform.

Anglicare SQ won the ROI category, having achieved full payback within four months of deploying Boomi, while also saving 2,000 people hours thanks to the low-code design of the platform.

UoM took home Emerging Technologies award for leveraging Boomi to not only connect more than 700 applications and their respective data, but inspire an IoT project for effective space utilisation across its facilities.

ORIX Australia won the Innovation award for using Boomi as the framework for all applications and data which feed into VOOM, ORIX Australia's customer-facing portal, and to integrate with third-party payment gateways and credit organisations.

Meanwhile, Flinders University was named top Change Agent APJ, for building an integration centre within the Boomi environment to successfully deliver on the objectives of its digital strategy to provide personalised education experiences to more than 26,000 students.

"Our Australian customers have moved beyond basic integrations to deliver large-scale projects that are having a profound impact on their organisations," says Boomi APJ managing director Ajit Melarkode.

"Today's winners have been able to launch new, modern services and implement advanced technology initiatives by incorporating the Boomi platform as the application and data integration framework of choice, to create new insights within their businesses internally as well as with external businesses, modernising and transforming their entire business ecosystems in the process.

Winners were selected by a team of Boomi executives. Submissions were evaluated based on the judging criteria, including transformational impact, creativity and innovation, scope and complexity, and environmental or social impact.

"These seven companies, the vanguard of our more than 9000 customers, highlight the unlimited possibilities for innovation that the Boomi platform makes possible," says Boomi CEO Chris McNabb.

"Celebrating their achievements at our annual conference is exhilarating for me. We are continually impressed with how our customers take Boomi's innovation and apply it to solve their most pressing digital unification challenges to drive business outcomes.
