ACT gov partners with TechnologyOne for new dev software
The Australian Capital Territory Government and TechnologyOne have formed a partnership to enhance the development application process for both industry and citizens.
This marks the first time residents and commercial developers in ACT can submit and monitor the progress of their development applications through new software from TechnologyOne.
Previously, there was no real-time oversight of the status of development applications. According to data, over 600 development applications were lodged with ACT Government Planning between June 23 and June 24. Under the old system, those involved in the development had no visibility of the progress of their applications.
The newly implemented system introduces TechnologyOne's Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) enabled solution, effectively replacing the former eDevelopment system. The upgrade aims to accelerate the application process and provide users the ability to view the status of their applications from initial lodgement through to verification and determination.
The Territory sought a modern, flexible SaaS system in response to evolving community expectations and governmental growth objectives. The new application system is designed to deliver an intuitive user experience and ensure transparency throughout the application process.
TechnologyOne CEO Ed Chung commented on the project, saying, "The project is yet another vote of confidence for TechnologyOne, demonstrating our understanding and history of delivering on the needs of government."
Chung added, "As a local provider competing against multinational vendors from around the world, we have a proud history of building an advanced business information service system and take great pride in delivering the best value for money for our customers, ensuring taxpayers' money is retained locally."
Headquartered in Brisbane, TechnologyOne employs 400 Australia-based developers and their solutions are utilised by more than 230 Federal and State Government agencies and departments across Australia and New Zealand, including the Tasmanian and Western Australian Governments. The Australian-made software developer integrates and maintains advanced security and privacy technologies that meet the highest Australian standards.
The company's global SaaS solution aims to provide deep functionality for the markets it serves: local government, government, education, health and community services, asset intensive industries and financial services. For these markets TechnologyOne invests significant funds each year in R&D, and also takes responsibility to market, sell, implement, support and run solutions for customers.
