Thu, 18th Jul 2024

Acronis has announced the return of its flagship product, Acronis True Image, previously known as Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office. This revision aims to address the increasing need for cybersecurity and data protection amid evolving cyber threats. Users of Acronis True Image will benefit from improved cybersecurity capabilities and enhanced performance tailored to meet today’s challenges.

Originally launched in 2003, Acronis True Image has been a trusted name in safeguarding home user data. The decision to revert to its original name is a nod to the company’s heritage, and the long-standing trust customers have placed in the product.

Acronis True Image offers a comprehensive solution for home users, combining both cybersecurity and backup functionalities. This latest release boasts integrated cyber protection features, such as anti-ransomware and anti-malware, along with reliable, fast, and secure backup options. The tool is designed for ease of use with an intuitive and modern interface, enabling one-click backup and restore capabilities.

The software is compatible with Windows and macOS operating systems and allows users to protect up to five computers under a single subscription, along with an unlimited number of mobile devices and tablets. Acronis stores over 42 thousand terabytes of user data in the cloud and safeguards more data on local devices.

The company, which has over 5.5 million users worldwide, reports that it blocks malware incidents for more than 20% of its active subscribers each month. In the first half of 2024 alone, Acronis True Image has successfully prevented approximately 12 thousand ransomware attacks.

"Acronis True Image is back and better than ever! Since its inception, Acronis True Image has been the must-have tool for users to secure their computers and back up their personal data, including digital photographs, work and personal documents, and other sensitive files," stated Gaidar Magdanurov, President at Acronis. "We are committed to meeting the high standards demanded by our customers and are dedicated to ensuring home users' data is armed with the strongest backup and security protection on the market. With our robust AI-based security, users can rest assured that their devices, whether for personal or professional use, are receiving best-in-class service and the most trusted protection for home users and small businesses."

The updated Acronis True Image also includes features such as disk cloning and remote management. The most recent update enhances security features to provide real-time protection, illicit crypto mining protection, vulnerability assessments, and antivirus scans, all supported by Acronis' security technology.
