FYI, this story is more than a year old

Acer has today announced a new portal it says was designed specifically for Australia's small and medium businesses and the channel partners who support them.

The Acer SMB Portal will provide the company's network of resellers with a comprehensive Business Buyers Guide of Acer's commercial products, with relevant solutions for all verticals. The portal will also feature a reseller locator to aid SMBs in finding an Acer partner.

Acer says the company's ability to scale in solution is pivotal to reseller success in this market sector.

“For our channel partners who target SMBs across Australia's economy, this powerful new resource will generate even greater interest in Acer's solutions,” says Derek Walker, general manager of Channel and Distribution at Acer Australia. “And our scalable range is built to order in Australia, which provides another convincing differentiator for our resellers.

The portal has been designed as a central resource for SMBs, combining business and technology tips and advice with information on Acer's range of business desktop computers, laptops and tablets.

“The site highlights the value of Acer devices that specifically benefit SMB operations and how they can bring value to those companies,” the company says in a statement.

Acer says partners can leverage its Australian-based assembly plant and service network. Its 1500m2 plant in Sydney has the capacity to custom assemble on average over 26,000 notebooks and 12,000 desktops and servers per quarter.

“Partners can leverage the local build to order facility, as well as the strength of Acer's single supply and service operation,” it says.

Acer employs 7,000 people and ranks No. 4 for total PCs globally (IDC 2014). Revenues for 2014 reached US$10.39 billion.
