FYI, this story is more than a year old

Cylance, the AI focused cybersecurity company, has announced the appointment of Jason Duerden as ANZ country manager.

Duerden's promotion from his previous position as head of ANZ channels was made with Cylance aiming to support demand for the company's AI-powered products.

The appointment comes at a vital time for the company's expansion into the region, as they declared 450% customer growth and 1323% revenue growth in the ANZ region from 2016 to 2017.

Cylance was the first company to apply artificial intelligence, algorithmic science and machine learning to cybersecurity, and was recently named number one in market share in the 2017 EMA Next Generation Endpoint Security report.

“In the local market, we continue to see strong interest in Cylance's technology and services from customers and partners, with a surge in uptake in the last 6 months,” Duerden says.

“I am extremely proud of our team's achievements and excited to lead our continued growth, helping customers migrate to next-generation security.

As country manager, Duerden is taking responsibility for continuing growth throughout ANZ, supporting the company's marketing, engineering, sales, channel, threat research and consulting teams in the region.

Duerden will also be executing the global strategy, delivering products and services across the ANZ market.

“Jason has proven himself to be an incredibly capable executive and a natural leader, responsible for driving our success in the ANZ market in 2017,” says Cylance global sales executive vice president John Giacomini.

“His passion for our technology and support of the company's mission to secure every endpoint across the globe will anchor our commitment to the region moving forward.

Cylance has also shown commitment to the Australian and New Zealand markets with the hire of Rob Collins as ANZ regional sales engineering director.

Collins is moving from his previous role at FireMon, bringing over 15 years' experience in the information technology industry.

In 2018 the company is aiming to build its ANZ team in sales, engineering and marketing, to support its growing partner and customer base across the region.

"Cylance has been a critical part of our endpoint security offering, providing proactive, artificial intelligence-based threat prevention that our customers can rely on,” adds VMtech CEO Len Findlay.

“Jason and the local team are fantastic to work with, and we look forward to continuing our partnership in 2018 for ongoing growth and success.
