FYI, this story is more than a year old

Ingram Micro can add another distinction to its collection, being named the 2016 Security Distributor of the Year for Cisco in the Asia Pacific region.

The award was presented to the distributor during the Cisco APJ Security Partner Connect 2016 held in Thailand.

The awards ceremony took place as part of a larger Cisco gathering of partners, brought together to review current and future security technology issues and offerings.

"Security continues to play an increasingly important role in technology, and is the primary concern for every enterprise, large or small, regardless of location or business purpose," comments John Soumbasakis, executive vice president, Business Development and Strategy, Ingram Micro.

"Offering our customers unparalleled security solutions contributes to the foundation of trust we've built with them from the very start,” he says.

“This award illustrates our commitment to their success, and to helping them to always stay ahead of what's next,” Soumbasakis says.

“It also shows our dedication to helping vendor partners such as Cisco achieve their revenue and profit objectives."

According to Cisco, the award symbolises the commitment Cisco and its channel partners place on having security at the top of the agenda.

Ingram Micro received the award for its overall revenue performance over the year, combined with its partner enablement and support services to extend the reach of Cisco's security solutions across Asia Pacific.
